A Gramma Russell recipe... June 2003
1 c. sugar
1 c. Karo syrup (light or dark)
1-1/2 c. peanut butter (plain or chunky)
4 c. Rice Crispies
Bring sugar and syrup almost to boil. Remove from heat, add peanut butter. Mix well. Add rice crispies- mix well. Pour into buttered 9x13 pan- press to level.
Melt:
2 Tbs. butter
6-8 oz. chocolate chips
Spread over crispie mixture- Chill till chocolate is firm. Cut into bars.
Note~ 1/2 recipe makes enough for 8x8 pan. I still use the same amount of chips. ;)
